MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
An erect robust annual 30-60cm in height, more or less clothed with apprised greyish hairs, strem grooved; leaves 3 foliolate, leaflets elliptic, acute, sharply dentate, hairy on both sides, main nerves prominent; flowers small, purplish in auxiliary racemes; fruits thick fleshy pods, in clusters, slightly pubescent, seeds 5-12 per pod, slightly compressed.
The pods are sweet, cooling, laxative, digestive appetiser, tonic and useful in constipation, dyspepsia, anorexia and vitiated conditions of pitta.
