MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Tozhukanni belongs to perennial shrub type, which can grow up to 60 to 150 cm in height. The leave shape will be changed according to its rate of growth. The real leaves at initial stage will grow at the opposite. Subsequently, they will change to be single leaves growing at each other. The leaves will grow to be oval or lanceolate, with a length of about 5 to 10 cm. Butterfly shape flowers, in purplish red, will bloom in around August to October. The pod of little lip-like purplish-red flowers will mature in around October to November.
Tozhukanni is a grass sensitive to the sound waves. There are many tiny linear leaves on both sides of its frontage. When the temperature is higher than 22, particularly under direct sunshine, being stimulated by sound waves, the grass would swing up and down; just like butterflies flying in the air, or girls dancing on the stage. The swinging scope of leaves can reach 180 degrees or above. Afterwards, they will be back to their origin and then repeat the swinging.
