MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Bidi Leaf Tree is a rare medicinal species of flowering shrub with religious significance. It is a small crooked tree with drooping branches that grows 3–5 metres (10–16 ft) tall and flowers between February and May. It is native to tropical Southeast Asia.
Leaves are used as cattle fodder, coarse fibre is extracted from the bark. In Ayurveda the bark is useful for the treatment of malaria, dysentery and diarrhoea. It is also useful as astringent. The stem bark of the plant is an astringent and is used in the treatment of headache, fever, skin diseases, tumours, blood diseases, dysentery, and diarrhoea.
