MEDICINAL PROPERTIES
Black musli is a small perennial herb, with an elongated tuberous rootstock with lateral roots. Sessile or short petiolate leaves occur in rosettes. The shape is linear lanceolate-15-45 cms by 1.5-2.4 cms. Flowers are bright yellow. Herb plant, 3~6 leaves cluster, leather skin, needle head,fluff side, bottom leaf purple red, miscellanceous flower, diameter 1cm;berry egg shape, bloom in summer and autumn.
Black musli is used against the poison of viper and keeps the Kidney working in the victims of viper. The rhizomes of the plants are used for the treatment of decline in strength, jaundice and asthma. According to Ayurveda, root is heating, aphrodisiac, alternative, appetizer, fattening and useful in treatment of piles, biliousness, fatigue, blood related disorders etc. According to Unani system of medicine, root is carminative, tonic, aphrodisiac, antipyretic and useful in bronchitis, ophthalmia, indigestion, vomiting, diarrhea, lumbago, gonorrhea, gleet, hydrophobia, joint pains etc
